How do lodgers pay?
Each house has one QR code (and a link). Lodgers scan it, pick their name, and record what they paid — no app or login needed. You confirm the amount on your side.
How do I send lodger emails?
Lodgaroo sends them for you by default — they arrive under your business name, with replies coming to you. You can optionally connect your own email in Settings → Sending email.
What is a refundable bond?
An amount you hold on a lodger's behalf, shown separately from their rent balance. Set it when you add or edit a lodger; it appears on their statement as "Bond held (refundable)".
How does billing work?
You're billed per active lodger (minimum 3), monthly or annually, in AUD. Annual is one month cheaper. Manage or cancel anytime on the Billing page.
How do I cancel?
Open BillingCancel subscription (or use Manage billing). You keep access until the end of your current paid period — no further charges after that.
Is my data safe?
Sending-email passwords are encrypted at rest, card details are handled entirely by Stripe (we never see them), and your house data is isolated to your account. See our Privacy page.
How do I add and split expenses?
On a house, open Apply expense to split a shared cost. Tick who it applies to — their shares split evenly, or set a % and lock one. The House can absorb a share (a communal cost charged to no one). Tick “Is the bill being paid now?” to record who fronted it in the same step — the House (communal), or a person (who is then owed back for everyone else’s share). Each person’s share becomes a charge they owe.
How do I track the House’s money?
The House tab is a cash account: opening balance, money in and out, and cash on hand. The ledger has three views you switch between — Running balance (a cashbook of actual cash movements), Dr / Cr (a debit/credit journal), and Balance summary (each person’s balance plus expenses). Filter by financial year or dates for a period statement, with balance brought forward and closing balance. Reconcile by counting the actual cash — it records the difference, snaps the running balance to what you counted, and keeps a dated history.
